Turning to photography as a creative outlet during a valiant fight with breast cancer at age 34, [info]renaissance10 survived and set up a photo contest to help raise funds for the Lavender Trust, a nonprofit that provides information and support to younger women with breast cancer. In the first two years, the competition brought in over £65,000 (that's $107,260.73 U.S.!), with entries from 130 countries last year. Renaissance10 recently joined LiveJournal to meet other passionate photographers and find supportive friends.

It's a bittersweet symphony, this life

Past months of 2009 )

DECEMBER

The Year in Review ||XOXO, Panda

If time is measured in memories
Don’t set your clock to misery
The clicks should come from what you got
And not the things that you lost
Sing out, sing out, sing out your joy
Raise up, raise up, raise up your voice

WHY: Okay, so it's kind of cheating, but this year really was amazing for me, and looking back on it, I'm really happy about how much better I'm doing in school, how much happier I am, and how things have seemed a little easier for me this year. It's been a while since I've looked back this triumphantly on a year in my life, so it's nice. :3

PS. Happy Christmas, to those who celebrate. ♥

Congrats Marty

Congratulations to Martin Brodeur. 104 shutouts is awesome. Great way to do it too, going into the Igloo one final time and shutting out the Pens to make a statement heading into the break.

I Love Yahoo Sports At This Moment
The high-scoring Pens and the defensive-minded Devils square off with a lead in the Atlantic Division on the line.
NJ 4, PIT 0 (End 2nd)

One of these things is not like the other.

Damn. What do you do in the NHL when you have no equipment?

The Minnesota Wild's equipment truck caught on fire outside Scotiabank earlier today, destroying the entire team's equipment the day before they play the Senators.

Wow. Just wow.

Twitpic photo stream, official news from the Wild, TSN, Blog of the Wild beat writer
(ETA 7:18 EST): Unofficial word after a 6pm team meeting is that they think they're going to play tomorrow.
